The reason I drink is to help me get rid of my writing problems. When I am drinking, I am able to forget about the fact that I have a writing problem. In other words, alcohol helps me escape from my writing problems. In addition, the second part of the quote is an expression of self-confidence.
In other words, I feel that because I have been able to get rid of my writing problems with alcohol, then I am able to get rid of them without it as well. However, there is a third part to the quote which is a hint at a possible future problem. The drinking may be a temporary solution to a long-term problem.
That’s why it’s so important for me to write this down before my drinking problem gets out of control.
